Cheat Lake

Cheat Lake is a 1,730 acre man made reservoir located in the northern part of Monongalia County, about 10 miles east of downtown Morgantown. The lake is home to three marinas, restaurants, boat rentals, swimming spots, parks, rail trail, hotels, two golf courses, and numerous housing communities. It’s also home to different species of bass, walleye, catfish, pike and trout. Coopers Rock State Forest is located just 10 miles east from Cheat Lake.

As one of the most desirable residential areas surrounding Morgantown, Cheat has a median home list price of $457,000 with average days on market at 46. Three of the highest rated schools in Mon County are located here. Populations census from 2020 is over 10,000 residents.
